Your new SlamIt

Your new SlamIt javascript for Microsoft Edge is worse than the old one. It is much slower than it used to be and usually "times out" forcing me to refresh & start over. Also it doesn't even default to 10 seconds so now that is an extra step to chose. And probably most important, when I have already set a bid and pull it up again it no longer displays the amount I had set previously.

Hello Brian,

Thank you for reporting these two issues. For the first issue, the site speed, you were one of the first to report it, and we took the request very seriously by moving to a new database provider. This required some careful planning, but you should see a significant speedup now.

On the Slam-It toolbar, I was able to reproduce it. You should not see the issue any longer, but if so, let us know ASAP.

I checked the pull-down for the 10-second default and this appears to have been resolved in the last release, along with displaying the updated bid amount.

We regret these issues but moving the database does cause a few issues, all that we believe to be resolved.

I hope these things have been resolved to your satisfaction. Thank you for writing in, and please let me know if you have any other questions.

Correction: Today, we learned that the slowness was from a runaway GoogleBot indexer. So I can say with confidence that it was not a system malfunction, in fact, the resilience of the site allowed it to hold up while it was getting hammered.

Detail: Apparently someone submitted hundreds of thousands of web pages to Google, which we think is a serious flaw in their design---they should have been able to detect this and stop it. We've contacted Google for resolution.

Fortunately, the sniper is totally isolated from the user interface, so it held up the entire time. You can add snipes with confidence. More info is on the dashboard.

Thanks again for your helpful feedback.
