Hello,
I like your service a lot. One suggested improvement I have for you is why not add an optional checkbox for automatic incremental bid increases when another bidder raises the minimum bid? Not everyone can sit in from their BidSlammer dashboard to monitor their bids. This feature would give them some peace of mind that they're still in the running and in control even while away from their computer.
Sure, eBay and your system now allows one to pad their bids in case bidding suddenly gets competitive, but an automatic bid adjuster still might be useful because it would give users more surgical and strategic control of their bidding and, bottom line, allow them to stay in the game even if bidding exceeds their maximum bid while they're gone. Right? Right!!
So, it might work like this: I enter my bid, as I do now, but decide to activate the optional bid adjuster checkbox. When I check the box, the system might automatically add a certain dollar amount, which I set, to any new bid from competitors. Maybe the bidding could be based on dollar amounts or maybe percentages or both. An absolute maximum bid still would be necessary, however.
I know eBay does not use one's maximum bid if one's winning bid was lower, so this suggested feature may not be a slam dunk. Still, I think it would be easy to implement programmatically and at least some of your customers would view it as a value-added option.
Maybe you could implement this as a beta pilot first.
