Subscription paid but not renewed

Hi. Yet again, after paying my recurring subscription it only shows my subscription as valid until yesterday. Is there any way of fixing this fault so I don't have to email you about it each month? Thanks, Mark

Hello Mark,

Thank you for your question about your subscription. It is showing correctly now.

For some reason the IPN notification isn't registering from eBay. We opened a ticket with PayPal and will reply when it is resolved.

This is permanently fixed. I regret this, as we rewrote most of the site to pave the way for mobile.

I saw you canceled. Is there anything we can do to keep you? I can give you 3 free months and then a coupon for a lower annual price once that is expired.

Really appreciate your patience.

OK. That's kind of you. I cancelled partly because I thought starting from scratch might reset the whole thing and then I wouldn't have to email you each month to ask you to update the subscription end date. I don't understand the coupon bit but let me know how to go about this. Best, Mark

Well, that will cause another shutoff, actually. On 6/14, PayPal will send an "EOT" end of term notification and it will cancel again.

Another issue is that you would then see the new pricing, which is more expensive now.

What we can do is send a link that enables a discounted price for a year. We have a month to do it, so I'll mark this thread to follow up.

Is everything ok otherwise?

I don't understand. You knew I had already cancelled and then you offered me 3 free months and a coupon. Now you are saying something completely different. Please explain.

I'm getting a bit fed up with this. Nothing seems to work in your admin.
Recent communication:
1) I cancelled hoping to reset everything due to your not renewing my subscriptions the past 3 months after I had paid.
2) You saw I cancelled and therefore offered me 3 free months and a coupon for a reduced price.
3) I explained why I cancelled and asked how to go about using your offer.
4) You reply saying that because I cancelled pricing will be more expensive !!!
Do your people actually communicate with each other or actually read the thread?
I'm happy with your service when it works. It worked fine before you did all the recent changes.
I hope your offer of 3 free months and a coupon for a reduced price still stands. If not, then there isn't much point in taking any of your communications or offers seriously.

You misunderstood. Yes, of course you still get the 3 months free. The coupon offer is to get you back to the $12.99 after that time. Let me take this step by step.

Canceling causes two things to happen:
1. You lose the price lock of $12.99.
2. In one month PayPal sends us an "end of term."

In other words, our system will get that end-of-term and cancel you again, but this time it would be from your cancel, not an issue with the site. User-initiated.

Thus, you accidentally removed your pricing lock of $12.99. So I have to use a coupon to get it back to $12.99/year instead of the new pricing which is $144/year. That is still $12.99 a month, but it would ask you to pay it up front, which I assume was not your intention.

Summary: Canceling had the OPPOSITE effect of your intention. It didn't "reset" anything -- it removed the lock you had on the old pricing.

SOLUTION: Set your subscription to expire 4 months from now, which gives you three free months plus the one you just paid for.

Then I can figure out how to make sure you don't have to pay the new $20/month, i.e., using a coupon. That $20/month matches most of our competitors, who also raised prices.

By the way, we sniping services are solo operations, there is just one person.

I hope that makes sense. All you need to know is that in 4 months you will not have to pay the new higher price.

Hmm... I'm overcomplicating this. I just gave you a free year from your last payment. It's not about money.

So... I do appreciate your comments on the site operation. But here's a screenshot to show what was really going on there. Some turd submitted 1,800,000 web pages to Google for our site. You'd think Google had a mechanism in place to prevent this, and their support was terrible. We took all the blame. Thankfully we had a solid architecture, which may have not been obvious.

Thanks. Appreciated. I don't really understand; it's all a bit too complicated for my brain and my time. Many thanks though for the free year. I'm happy after that to re-sign for whatever the current price is then. Best, Mark

Ok thank you.

The main point is that PayPal handles the subscriptions, so canceling requires a little work to get it back where it was.
