Purchased the 10 slam occasional user package, used it to bid on one item and lost (outbid). If I don't win an auction, does that count against the 10 slam total? How can I tell how many slams I have left?

Misses don't count, those are all free. You still have all of your 10 snipes. ;-) The number remaining should be in the upper-right corner of your snipe home page.
