search results suggestion

109840 17 4

Of the search results;
i) It would be nice to order them in order of ending soonest.
ii) To understand or know if any of the search results are duplicates of anything we are already watching, or god forbid slamming!
iii) If there was a way to search within a specific price range. (and slightly less important, condition)
iv) If of the results we could be taken to the eBay page to understand the specifics, i.e. description.
Bidslammer is currently the most comprehensive tool on the internet without a doubt in its current form but these kind of additions would make this sort of tool, indespensible ;)

Hello Amit,
Hmm... The same day we finished the last suggestion on your previous list (archive button), a new list comes in. Coincidence? :-p
For (iv), the 'Grid View' has links to the item page, if you don't mind switching over to it until I can add that link.
The other requests are not too difficult.
Is there any value in being able to search by "product id?" --> https://developer.ebay.com/DevZone/shopping/docs/CallRef/FindProducts.html#FindProducts
bidslammer
Hey,
I'm watching and waiting.. saw you were becoming free, and thus thought I would come with my next round of ideas !
Ok for (iv) no problems. With regards to the others, great to hear they can be incorporated easily - no one wants to see an item they want at a price they don't ;) ...
I have no requirment to use the product ID in order to add them to bidslammer, although there would be no harm.
Thanks again. Sorry to bother.
Ps. archive button is great!! thanks :)

Haha, that's all good, yes your sensors are functioning properly. I haven't used eBay in many years, so I rely on customers to feed me ideas. Your features are going to go in ... whatever can be put in reasonably without taking up too much area.
Re search engines ... https://paste.pics/5480cbb27d7c58b07c5ee242ed3136f5
I still have that domain ... perhaps if I run out of ideas, I'll start it back up again. That was created back when neither eBay nor Google were household words. Notice that the article doesn't mention eBay.
Question 1: The charting functions will be released by the end of next month. Please give your opinion about using the following marketing strategy. There will be no cost to use the features, but they must be "unlocked:" The invitation will say something like, "Choose any one (or two) of the following:
• Give us feedback [good or bad]. How can we do better?
• Describe an improvement that you'd like to see.
• Leave a review on _________.
• Like on Facebook.
• Thumbs-up on Slant.
• Mention on Reddit (counts as 2).
• [Something else?]
Can you see any reason for anyone to have concerns with this? Two seems greedy, but I'm sure that others are doing something similar.
Question 2: Name of charting features: (1) Data Visualization Tools, or (2) Bidding Analytics.
Question 3: The next feature will be (drum roll) ... How d'ya like deez apples: https://bidslammer.com/public/temp/aw_yeah.mkv

That's amazing, you've been an web entrepreneur since the early days (wish I didn't just spectate now ;) ) - and it's great to see - yes I remember the good old days - have been on the web since 95/96 myself (and had begged my dad to get me Prestel back in the 80's which never happened!)
Yes, as you've gathered, I'm feeding back to you on real-world requirements that just keep adding cherries to the cake of this already solid and comprehensive tool.
Perhaps when you're near complete with the recent round of updates you might use your talents on another tool/site.
I'd say why not get people to help spread the word (though I keep this as my little secret ;) ) Trust Pilot is quite popular - or Google reviews.
Q2... Naming... I'm a AV/VC solutions architect by trade - so I would probably lean toward 1, but for the general public bidding analytics would be the one.
Q3 - got a 404 on that :/ !
ps. I'm glad to see the archive button appear on the list view - keep this up man, amazing features - I feel like we're really in control now.
pps. for me the hide losses has stopped working for a while now, but I don't use it that often so not a big issue.

Another good one for us would be of the search results.
If any of the results match what we already have in our 'watching' or 'current' list, if the option to 'Load Snipe' could be removed, or an indicator of some sort to show we already have the item in hand - that would be great.
This would allow bidslammer to become all-encompassing. We could use this as a final drag-net as it were to ensure we've captured all items and that nothing escapes.

People don't know they need the feature above, when they get it... that's it, subscribers for life! :P

Great feedback .. have you used Auction Tribune? Some f/b on that would be great as well. You have to turn it on in Prefs.
I found a great plugin like Reddit, I want to put it up and let people vote up the features they like. It's a huge win-win thing because I get the information, and you all get to choose what's next. You'll see a few of your ideas on there that are still in the queue.
TrustPilot and related sites start at about $2K/month... ew.
"The early days ..." When I made that site, I felt like the Internet had passed me by. I had a knack for making apps on my home computers, but I felt like my expertise in software was waning / out of date. I also had used this thing called LaTex which is like HTML. Then, someone told me I could make a web page easily with Perl, and he showed me how to set up a web server in 30 seconds. I never looked back, not really.
I have a drawer full of ideas that a few diehards have given me. I can't believe no one has yet invented a truly helpful front end to eBay. Have they?
Here's the video again, with a few things for you to gnaw on until the next release(s).

The "conditions" suggestion is tough to implement because there are 11 types of conditions:
https://developer.ebay.com/devzone/finding/CallRef/Enums/conditionIdList.html
If you can help me break those down a bit, as to how you might search for them, let me know. I think we'd need 11 checkboxes, unless you can provide some insight. :)

In that case, if were was an option to exclude items that 'were for parts or not working', you're left with everything else that is working. The problem is, It's so easy to win items that are cheap but because they're faulty.
I really only ever distiniguish between that - and brand new i.e. is it New? Used? Or for parts/faulty.
ps; with regards to the link sent - here's some feedback in order:
[VID] aw_yeah.mkv 2020-06-22 15:43 1.8M (I've seen this sort of thing with plugins on other tools (not sniping) that I've used where a button is automagically added into a page - not a bad idea - but I don't think it'll change my workflow.

You know what else would be good - if in list view we could see item condition - Perhaps a key to represent the condition- such as N, F, or even 1-6 or whatever. That would be great. Items that are faulty or for parts keep slipping through the net and I keep buying them and losing money unless of course I go into each item on eBay. I want to stay on BidSlammer and work here and not have to go to eBay to confirm it's actually working - and then deduce with that last piece of data, how much we think the item is worth or are willing to pay for it.
When you've got your watch list of items on BidSlammer,.. the ideal is to fly down that list - all data available, (and pretty much all of it is there right now inc. shipping ;) )... I can look at each line and boom, seller is charging x for item, y for shipping, item is used ... right here's my top end. or x, y and item is new, here's my top end... oh x, y, faulty - mmm no i'll give that a skip.
As you've noticed with eBay, they convulute everything, but further the ads just get in the way - so with bidslammer, once all data is presented there for you, it's like a no brainer - you don't really want to use eBay to do anything in regards to bidding if you can help it!
I know I keep adding to a list that appears to be never ending, but really I do it from real-world scenarios at my end - I just will stop because I think we're nearly there with everything - and I mean that!

With these features, plus quite a few others on my own list, it makes more sense for me to start developing a search engine at a separate site, and pursue affiliate income. If I'm helping get new traffic to eBay, it definitely qualifies as new traffic. The problem is that snipers can't be in the affiliate program. If only. I'm allowed to do it from a separate business URL, though. I plan on using one of the domains I own (probably Auction Hawk or Collector.Net) to do this.
I have some other ideas that came in. One that stood out was a way to request a combined invoice from the seller. Apparently after about 50 items in your cart, the UI starts breaking down. Can you comment on that?
In that Forbes article, it mentioned the "Valu-Scout" tool I invented around 2001. It predicted the cost (for both buyers and sellers) so accurately that it was creepy. It also presented a chart that let you see at-a-glace where the best deals were. It used stock market-pressure concepts of supply and demand to calculate value. I've never seen anything like it since. My friends would try it and it would nail it on just about every item.
The problem is that eBay quickly saw the value of selling their historical data, and banned use of re-selling it for marketing purposes. You can buy a license -- but it's expensive. I might call eBay some time to inquire.
Let me know on the question in paragraph 2, please.
bidslammer
Sorry I can't comment on the combined invoice requirement, have not ever had 50 items in a cart at one time ever!
Yes Valu-Scout sounds like it was an interesting tool.Must have done a bit of mining then per search. A bit like many of the apps out there these days to evaluate a products potential when selling on eBay/Amazon/ etc. - however with the advent of the historical data we spoke of, those in the market for a particuar product will be able to use historical data (if they purchase on a regular basis) to determine market forces of supply and demand.
Shelftrend is a good example of what's possible in that regard.

Another one I have is in relation to subscription, it would be nice to see when ones sub ends as opposed to, your subscription is active, please check back closer to the time.

Please feel free to ignore me. But if you can import watch lists, is there any way to unwatch an item? Sometimes one imports something, and then reviews the auction and realises, a) it's not what's wanted or b) it's now too expensive as it been bid up beyond what one is willing to enter in at.
So in those instance when working through the watch list, if there was a button to unwatch that would be great without having to go back to ebay.
Also an idea for your other site. Imagine being able to manage messages from there, and seeing them in easy to read fashion - perhaps it might even allow different options for viewing of messages - or even buttons for canned responses.
Guest
*of the removal from watch list, perhaps it does not have to be from eBay even, could be put on an exclusion list within bidslammer, so when one updates the watch list and re-imports, it does not bring back in items that one has already deemed are of no interest.

Every time someone gives me an idea, I put it into Trello, and then knock out a bunch at a time.
"Remove from Watch List" is possible. Here's the list of everything that's possible.
https://developer.ebay.com/DevZone/XML/docs/Reference/eBay/index.html#CallIndex
This thread closes after 30 days, I just opened it to make this reply... but if you have another list, feel free to start another thread. (I just added a Trello story to close the ticket based on the last reply date, not the ticket open date.)
I have only refused one request I can think of. It comes in occasionally: A feature to keep on bidding until the reserve price is met. If you think that one through ... lol.
Be safe
