Regarding group bid

I just placed my first group bid.
In the process of doing so, after the first snipe was placed, the area where an ebay item number gets placed remained populated. So I pressed "place snipe" again (I think that's what the "go" button is called), and noticed the message at the bottom of the box which had said "you have placed a successful bid", in green I believe, had turned to red and now stated "bid more than the buy now price"
I then went and deleted the first item number and inserted the second item number.
At that time, the red "bid more than the buy now price" was still in place. I could not figure out how to remove or alter it, so I went ahead and placed the snipe. Once it showed up, I canceled that snipe. The next time I I entered the number for the second auction, I did not see the red message.
My question is would there be any holdover of that info from the first attempt?
Also, the item did not even list a buy now option, but what I saw on this site, made me wonder if there is some sort of hidden buy now over at ebay, which MIGHT have activated if I had left that attached to my snipe?
Thanks for your help. I don't use your site often, but have had some success and fun when I have.
Thanks again,
Aaron Patterson

Hello Aaron,
Thank you for your question about Bid Groups. We regret the late reply; we were working hard on the software release that we just announced.
To answer your question, yes, we retain the values in the fields in case a customer accidentally closes the page. Or, until you refresh the browser page. Perhaps we should clear the field after it's entered. It is worth some thought.
But you brought our attention to something else. It sounds like you were trying to snipe a Buy It Now item, and then we added a minimum bid increment from the cost of the bid. On consideration, we should remove this error check!
eBay will reject bids if they are over the fixed price. Only when a buyer bids lower will the Buy It Now be converted into an auction and allow the higher snipe price. Therefore, it makes no sense to limit the bid amount.
As a result of your ticket, the error check has been removed. If you don't mind, please let us know if you ever see this pop up again --- you shouldn't.
Please let us know if we can help with anything else.
