Odd Security Events Before Snipe

Greetings. LONG LONG time user here.
At 9:31am today (Central) I lost a snipe (Item 175422493316) because according to your error message"You revoked our ability to place an eBay bid on your behalf". (which I didn't BTW)
At 9:23am, just eight minutes earlier, I had gotten an email with a two-factor authentication message from eBay providing a code to change my eBay password. (I was not home at the time) So someone else was trying to change my eBay password, probably by clicking "Forgot your password?".
At 9:24 I got another email saying my eBay password had been successfully changed (!) and I was thus locked out of eBay (!).
Now, I got back into eBay OK using alternate login, and I successfully changed to a new password, but my question is this: What the heck is going on here? Is all this due to weird BidSlammer activity???
Or, did someone click on "Forgot your password?", hack into my POP email, get that two-factor email with the eBay change code, change the password, log in to eBay with it, and revoke your ability to place bids for me?? Sounds unlikely! My eBay account looks OK to me now. My Thunderbird email client looks OK. Virus scan shows nothing.

Hello Joe,
Thank you for your question about your eBay account. When your eBay password changes, you have to re-authorize in BidSlammer Preferences.
The rest of your experience should be reported eBay Trust & Safety, I think. Rest assured that it has nothing to do with us, since we don't store passwords. Most likely at some point in the past, someone sent a phishing email that you clicked on by mistake. eBay will simply ask you to change your password again, at which point you have to re-authorize again with us.

Hey this is really a second ticket request. My existing one is solved BTW. Thank you. It can gp.
Anyhow, I just changed my eBay password, and now I have to change the password with you too. So I'm trying.
But when you say "We will send an email to your email address", nothing happens.
I checked my Spam and Trash and I don't think you are sending the email that will allow me to change my password.

The email would be sent to the email you have on file with eBay. Does this help? If not, let me know and I can investigate further.

Fixed!
As part of the security changes I recently made to eBay, I changed my eBay email from the old [edited] to the new [edited]. Entering that new eBay email works.
So you can close this ticket, in case I ned to start another one. haha
