Thank you for your report about the notes. Just released a hotfix for this, based on your message. It should be ok now.

Thank you for your quick response, but now the ability to add notes has completely disappeared.

Just FYI - we added a "Notes" tab on the left side navbar. Let us know if this isn't working as expected.
