You haven't done anything incorrectly. Prior to a few days ago, we created a second account if someone changed their eBay ID. Now, we can detect the change and keep the same account.
Since the the refund window for your payment closed, so the two choices are:
(1) We can send a payment to refund the one-year payment, or
(2) We can cancel and refund your monthly and apply the one-year subscription to the new account.
