Issue with one second snipe

I have consistently been losing my snipes lately, using settings that worked before. Can you tell me, is this because I am setting the time too short? I use one second, since sniping is an arms race and I have paid extra money for your service, which promises to function at that level. Or are the sellers using tactics to freeze out snipes? Please let me know what is happening here. Thanks!

Hello Dylan,
Thank you for your question about your snipes. We buffer all snipes by the average delay we experience with eBay at the time, which is usually less than two seconds. But lately, it's more spread out, so we've had to change it to the MAX delay, not the average delay, which will give it the extra half second or so it needs.
That said, I looked at your bid history. For you, I'd suggest no earlier than 3 to 5 seconds. This is because most of the items you bid on are popular and you encounter a lot of tie situations. In those cases you lose because your bid came in after theirs. It has to do with the minimum bid increment.
The one-second delay is intended for very low price items with low competition. If you use 3 to 5 seconds across the board, you will win more often because your bid comes in earlier, but still late enough so someone can't react to your snipe.
I hope this has been explained to your satisfaction. If not, please tell me how we can improve.

Hi there,
This all helps. But it has been a disappointing experience with your service. I got locked out of the system recently due to an update on your end, causing me to lose access to the system while items I had bid on were closing, and now I am losing items due to this issue with the one second bids. It feels as if the amount I am paying for the service is not justified by the service I am receiving, especially with free platforms out there that offer what I apparently need, which are longer lead times. Is there a way to get a refund on the funds I have in my wallet now? Thank you.

I appreciate the feedback. By "locked out" I assume you mean the security update. Unfortunately there isn't much we can do about that, but it's considered a one-time thing.
I'll double your purchase to say thanks for your time investment. You can get a free platform, but look at how often they blame eBay. "100% guarantee except where eBay lag time is involved." That is precisely the explanation I gave you above, yes? We are all honest services, but we are all subject to eBay's terms and performance.
If you'll take my advice above, you will never lose (except to an account-related issue) and you will also win more often.

Thanks for the note. I'll go ahead and spend down the balance on items that I am not too concerned about winning.
