Failing bids due to shipping address

I keep losing auctions because it says seller doesn't ship to my address even though the listing says that it's set for eBay international shipping. If I bid manually on ebay, its no trouble. Problem with bidslammer only. Very frustrating.

Hello Jeffrey,
Thank you for your question about the shipping location. Your post helped us realize an issue and we are now testing a hotfix.
We traced the problem to you being registered on the eBay CA site, but the bids were placed on eBay US> So the bid has to be placed on eBay CA. I will write again when this is fully tested and released, we plan to get it in prior to Sunday.

Ok the fix is released. I don't think you will see it again, but please let me know either way. Thank you in advance.

I don't think the fix worked. I lost another one yesterday due to the same issue.

I'll need to set up logging and make sure it's doing what I thought. The trick is to ensure that the bids are being placed on eBay CA, your registered country.
Are you quite certain you can buy things from the exact same sellers for which you receive this error?
bidslammer
Thanks. Yes, manually buying from sellers is never a problem. Especially when they have eBay international shipping enabled. Even when they don't have that enabled on the listing, it's usually not a problem for me when purchasing from US sellers and the correct shipping cost estimate is shown anyway.
The only time I've ever had a problem purchasing on ebay (outside of bidslammer) is when the listing clearly indicates no shipping to Canada, or ships only to the "lower 48 states" or otherwise says something like "ask seller for shipping quote"
Cross-border shopping between Canada and USA is usually really easy.

Ok, I think I figured it out. For the search, EBAY-CA calls fail and expect either EBAY-ENCA or EBAY-FRCA.
Assuming this is also true of bidding, I'll try EBAY-ENCA for you. I can test it by underbidding and seeing if it likes the country. I will need a day or two to release. You will know it is released when you see the country updated in your Preferences to EBAY-ENCA or whatever.
Meanwhile - perhaps you can look in My eBay and see if there is a specific ENCA setting. If so, set it and then re-authorize.

I went through all the settings in My eBay and couldn't find anything related to EBAY-ENCA or permanently setting language prefs. There is a pulldown at the top of the screen that allows switching between English and French. Choosing French redirects the browser to cafr.ebay.ca, while English remains on default ebay.ca.
On ebay, I revoked access to Bidslammer, then re-authorized. Not seeing EBAY-ENCA in my Bidslammer prefs yet, but I'll keep watching for it.
Thanks, again.
Thanks again.

Another issue is that when I click on an item's ebay link in the "Current Snipes" area, it directs to the eBay site in the country of the seller, rather than my own country. That's not very useful, and sometimes it doesn't seem to be very accurate.
Take ebay item 355369833860 for instance.. under current snipes in Bidslammer, if I click it tries to take me to ebay.gr (Greece) but the link doesn't work. I'm not sure there even is an ebay.gr
This behaviour changes if I add the snipe using the SlamIt! button while on ebay.ca. In that case, the current snipe link seems to take me to ebay.com.. which is still not desirable, since I added it from ebay.ca, but better than it taking me to ebay.gr, which doesn't work at all for me.

Now the one that I added using the "SlamIt!" button is linking to ebay.gr. Seems that it changed some time after it was added.

Ok, I see one issue. When a snipe is inserted into the database, the country is not specified. Therefore it defaults to US. However, as soon as a refresh is performed, the country is then overwritten with the correct country.
Based on other customer input, I think it should be such that the refreshing and the clicking-to-eBay links should be on the site for which the item was listed. But the snipe itself has to be placed on the user's registered country.
If you have strong feelings that this should be different, please let me know and I can add a preferences option. I generally add anything that has value.

btw the "Add Snipe" code for the Slam-it vs. the dashboard is the same (defaulting to US initially).

I misspoke. Your suggestion is what customers want to see, I think. So these are the changes I will make.
1. Clicking link will take you to item in your registered country, which will be EBAY-CA.
2. Placing bid will also be placed on your registered country EBAY-CA.
2. Item information will be stored in EBAY-{SELLER}, i.e., the site where item was listed. You call it "seller's site." That way proper shipping can be calculated.
If that's not correct let me know. I should be able to release it within a week.
bidslammer
Yes, that seems correct. I do prefer to click links that take me to ebay.ca. I don't have much use for going to the eBay item page for the seller's country.
Ultimately, the most important thing is that it doesn't fail to bid. Ability to confidently place snipes on items outside my country is absolutely vital.
