Can you please explain why my bid did not go through on this item? This auction was very important to me and it looks like I would have had a good chance at winning it.

Hello Logan,

Thank you for your question about this item. You can see the exact error that eBay returned by clicking the "log" icon next to the item in your Completed folder.

The error begins with, "To ensure that eBay remains a safe marketplace, we limit the quantity of items that can be bought or sold by a single account at one time."

I hope I answered your question to your satisfaction. Please let me know if I can help further.

Thank you. The error tabs won't display on my desktop anymore. I haven't been able to see the reason why for a couple of months. Is there a formatting change that can be made so I can see these details?

My other bids all went through so that error seems like maybe the amount of the bid was actual reason. I will submit them manually for high value items from now on.

Yes, there are still a few minor issues left over from our February release for security upgrades. I think there are 2 issues here.

For #1: Did you archive item 396807685842? It is in our database, but I don't see it in the Completed folder.

For #2: When visible, the item should display red exclamation mark, and the hover doesn't work in some browsers.

Let me know about question 1 above, which will help direct which piece of code to look at. Also, if you have any other suggestions that would make anything easier, please let me know and we'll try to put it in for you.

By the way -- regarding the blocks on item 396807685842 et al: I researched this for you, and you are correct--- rapid or high-value activity may prompt eBay to pause more purchases or bids.

As a side note, the seller can set a limit set on number of items per buyer -- although that is not the case here, since eBay returns a different error for that.

Thank you.

1) No, I did not archive it.

2) Yes, the red exclamation displays but the hover results in a text box generating out of view within the frame of the item.

3) It is unfortunate that the value of the item prevented eBay from accepting the snipe. I stood to gain thousands on that item have spent the whole day ruminating over this outcome.

4) The only general suggestion I would make is that the slam-it tool does not automatically engage the numerical "max bid" value. It would be nice if when I opened the slam-it pop-up that it engaged the "max bid" value so I could start typing a number without first clicking on it.

With that in mind, also being able to use the enter key to submit the bid instead of clicking the "add snipe" button.

1 and 2) Ok thanks for the info.

3) I don't know if this is related, but if I add up the amounts you bid on today, it totals $10027.48, which is just over $10K. Maybe this is a threshold? You didn't win the items, but something tells me it isn't coincidence. Image: https://imgshare.cc/snisghz9

4) The Slam-It tool does use the "Minimum to Bid" value provided by eBay. Example: https://imgshare.cc/3p93ml5c . If you see an example of it not working, let me know the item number and I can check. Keep in mind that some minimum-to-bid will be equal to the cost if there are no bids yet.

5) Ok I will look into that.
