BidSlammer failed me with John Elway baseball card on ebay

Something went wrong with an auction while using BidSlammer last night. I thought you should know about it and maybe offer an explanation. No bid happened with my account and I ended up not winning the auction. It's a bummer. I did use BidSlammer a few hours beforehand on a different auction and it worked fine. But for this one, it did not. What does it mean when it says
Snipe 1 placed at 0000-00-00 00:00:00
Snipe 2 placed at 0000-00-00 00:00:00
The system never entered my bid?
Please investigate. Should I be doing something different to get my bid to work? I thought everything was fine as always.
Let me know.

Hi Patrick,
Well, we never blame eBay like most of our competitors always do, we'd rather just tell the exact truth. Only about 99.99% of the time (1 in 10,000) it turns out to be our fault, as it was in this case. One of our customers piled up a massive number of bids, all under $1, and all to execute in the same few-second window. This choked that server and although we check for that, it does take about 2 minutes to recover. The whole thing occurred in less than two minutes, but unfortunately your bid were right on the tail end.
The last time we saw something like this was at least three years ago, so I can tell you with confidence that it's not something that would ever be likely to happen again. As the result of your writing in, we're going to place a limit on how many snipes can execute per user in a given minute.
I hope this answer is satisfactory and does not deter your trust in us. Please let us know if you have other questions.

Thanks for the clear explanation of what happened. I thought something weird was going on. There will be other cards to win on ebay. No big deal. Just wanted to let you know. Thanks again.

Thanks for understanding.
I think we're the only company that publishes the actual snipe times. It has to do with our confidence. Also it keeps us honest and hopefully customers see it that way! ;)
