What is the best time before the end of an auction to have Bidslammer place my bid? Is it 10 secs? Or 9?

This really only matters for high-priced items. An earlier bid will defeat the minimum bid increment. A later bid will reduce any emotional price escalation.

So that means the higher the item is priced, the longer delay you should use.

For a $1000 item, my $995 bid coming before a $1000 bid will win, since the $1000 bid won't be high enough to even register in the bid history.
